Numerous inconsistencies in Sheriff Gore’s account regarding his FBI exploits
In a stunning turn of events, just days before the California primary, Sheriff Gore appears to have embellished his FBI exploits. Statements like “I stormed hijacked planes, I did all that stuff,” could have been exaggerated and needs further explanation.
The emotional aspects of the San Diego County Sheriff’s race may have caused Gore, the current appointed caretaker of the Sheriff’s office, to misspeak or embellish his background as an agent with the FBI.

10News Poll has Gore, La Suer, Duffy 1, 2, 3 in Sheriff Race

“…in the new poll released Tuesday, Gore had 26 percent of the vote — up 12 points from November … showed former Undersheriff and Assemblyman Jay La Suer at 16 percent, which was unchanged from November. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Jim Duffy, who led the race in November, is at 15 percent — down nine percent.”

- 10News calls this lead by Gore “substantial.” Ten points with margins of error and nearly forty percent undecided is substantial? Funny.

Registrar of Voters officially rejects Jim Duffy’s bid to be called “Sheriff’s Lt.” on ballot as he tries to unseat Sheriff Bill Gore.

My sources confirm that is the case, although the letter has not gone from the ROV to Duffy as of yet.

Toni Atkins, Developer. What?
A few days ago I raised some questions about interesting ballot titles and over the past few days I have received some answers, some more hysterical than others.
It looks like I do have my answer about Toni Atkins being a “small businesswoman”. She backs up her claim by listing herself as a Senior Principle at LeSar Development Consultants. My questions now become did she take a salary for this while on the City Council and if so does she list it in her economic interests as influencing her votes on the City Council? Is she a registered lobbyist with the City now? Did she exchange votes on the Council for a position? We’ll just have to wait and see…
Ten Little Indians
Well the filing deadline for office has come and gone and there were definitely quite a few interesting developments, some of which have been discussed here and some haven’t, and obviously everything is tentative before signatures are verified.
The Sheriff race narrowed to three with Gore, Duffy, and LaSuer. The big question here is where do the Democrats and Independents go and can Gore survive June? I think if Gore grabs 40% in June he’ll win in November, if not we might have a new Sheriff in town (too easy?). The good news is that no matter who wins the seat will stay in the hands of a Republican.
Lincoln Club Endorses Bill Gore in SD Sheriff’s Race
San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore received the endorsement of The Lincoln Club of San Diego County for his candidacy in the race for San Diego County Sheriff.
In a news release issued today, Tom Sudberry, Chairman of the Lincoln Club’s Board of Directors, said Gore’s proven record of leadership and managerial skills qualify him as the best candidate for the job.
“Bill Gore has demonstrated his good judgment and considerable skills on the job every day for over 30 years in increasing positions of responsibility,” said Sudberry. “He has delivered on strategic objectives throughout his career, first with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and now with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.”
Duffy Scores Perfect with Labor Council
Sheriff candidate Jim Duffy may have already staked his claim as the union candidate, scoring both the Deputy Sheriff’s Association and state PORAC endorsements. But, even those organizations over the years have backed candidates, including Republicans, with less than perfect labor credentials.
It was very likely that the Labor Council would follow suit with an endorsement of Duffy, no doubt, even if he failed to be perfectly aligned with all of their positions.
So, why would Duffy feel the need to be perfectly aligned, thus giving the appearance of a “completely-in-the-pocket-of-labor” candidate?
Amato’s Take on the Sheriff’s Race
KCBQ AM-1170 and Washington Times Radio Talk Show Host Rick Amato recently weighed in on a sheriff’s candidate debate held September 12 in El Cajon….
On Saturday, I had the opportunity to sponsor and co-moderate a debate among the San Diego County Sheriff candidates. It followed the East County TEA Party, where an estimated 1500 people attended. Questions were made available for the audience to ask of the candidates. All four candidates participated.
It was a loud, engaged audience with plenty of sparks flying among the candidates themselves. Here are my observations from the debate.
