The Little Hoover Commission just released a bipartisan report on public employee pensions. The data is sobering to say the least.   ·         The 10 largest public pension plans in California faced a combined shortfall of more than $240 Billion in 2010.   ·         Major cities in California including San Diego are or will be spending 1/3 of their operating …

Guest Commentary by Rhonda Deniston In November 2010 the American voter sent a luminous message around the nation that they want responsible and fiscally conservative representatives, not at just the Federal level, but at the state and local level as well. Wisconsin, a leftist state, actually voted for both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama by double digits in recent elections, …

Wisconsin Update – Gallup Poll, Local Coalition Presser

B-DaddyB-Daddy 1 Comment

As I feared, the initial reaction to the specific issue of restricting collective bargaining for public employees is not favorable, according to Gallup, with 61% opposed. This, despite an earlier Rasmussen poll that shows support for Governor Walker’s overall approach. HotAir points out that Gallup has not released the details of this poll, so it is hard to analyze the …

In the article, several residents raise concerns about the oversight (or lack thereof) regarding the district’s spending of Proposition O funds. Within the last few months however, there has been a Recall Ricasa blog …

The ‘hitmen’ of SD Rostra need a “beer summit” with Two Cathedrals

Ryan PurdyRyan Purdy 7 Comments

The call to “civil discourse” was never anything more than a call to censorship of the right. The local “progressive” blog Two Cathedrals objected to my use of “hitmen.”  I used it to describe the men of the left who are coming after Darrell Issa.  Never mind that the liberal allies of these particular operatives have bragged that Averell “Ace” …

http://www.nctimes.com/news/opinion/article_527d8e25-90d1-5a75-8ce1-d66cdf358668.html It seems that back in 2004, many North County Mayors including Democrats Maggie Houlihan of Encinitas and Crystal Crawford of Del Mar  were very much in favor of getting the voters to adopt “Prop A,” the extension of the TransNet sales tax measure. In fact, they were so in favor of it they were among others who penned a North County …

San Ysidro School Board Member Claims GOP

Here’s a fun question for ya: how many Republican elected officials do we have in the South Bay, anyway? From our count… not many, and from our knowledge there are no Republicans who sit on the San Ysidro School Board. Perhaps that needs to be rectified in 2012. We digress. One of the non-reported stories that came out of the …

By now there isn’t a political wag worth quoting who hasn’t weighed in on the dilemma facing the city of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The City asked its citizens what its new government center should be named. When former Mayor Harry Baals (yes, it’s pronounced exactly like you think) emerged as the front runner, the online poll inevitably went viral. This …
