The recent tragedies in San Diego County have shed new light on our parole system and the risks to our children. Citizens are demanding that the system be evaluated, fixed, and overhauled, so that the protection of our children remains the top priority and is never compromised in the policies, procedures, and safeguards put in place. The desire to shrink prison populations along with the pressure of decreased funding in the parolee administration system is at odds with the goal of ensuring that convicted sexual predators can never commit another heinous crime.
Preserve Your Second Amendment Rights: Support AB 357
Your support is needed for AB 357. This bill would change the California Concealed Firearms License (CCW) policy from ”MAY ISSUE” to ”SHALL ISSUE.” This is a vital distinction. State tax commission makes recommendations
BRIAN JOSEPH, Sacramento Correspondent
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced this morning that he will be calling a special session of the state Legislature to review recommendations for updating the tax code, which were released today.
The Commission on the 21st Century Economy, a 14-member, bipartisan committee appointed by the governor and legislative leaders, has been working for nine months on a series of recommendations to simplify the state tax code and reduce tax revenue volatility, a prime culprit behind the state’s budget crisis this year.
