Any politicians willing to say “pound sand” to Chargers?

Barry JantzBarry Jantz 1 Comment

A year ago I understood the hesitancy on the part of elected officials in San Diego to do anything other than at least appear to pursue efforts to keep the Chargers here. The tide has turned. The team led by Mark Fabiani has either purposely or thru complete PR incompetence forced the average citizen into saying “whatever.” A politician with …

If you missed the fun a couple of months back, Assemblyman Matthew Harper had his microphone removed by Assemblyman and Labor Committee Chair Roger Hernández during a heated exchange on some now forgotten bill (yes, we remember the incidents, we don’t always remember the legislation). Although Hernández subsequently expressed regret over his heavy-handedness, that isn’t keeping Harper from having some …

Here’s how a spin doctor does it, albeit very, very badly… Headline: Carly Fiorina breaks top 10 of 2016 GOP candidates in latest national poll Keep in mind there are 11 candidates or so in the race and she’s tied for 10th in the cited poll.

I was at San Francisco International  yesterday late afternoon awaiting a flight and saw the news of the U-T sale, on my phone via Twitter. One doesn’t need the Union-Trib anymore to hear about the Union-Trib. Or, maybe not at all. Real time news is at our fingertips, with the content and parameters of what we want to know easily …

As is my custom the past several years on this eve… And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.  And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, …

Breaking: Padilla ends Chula Vista recount, McCann can for now rest easily as Council member

Word from the Registrar of Voters this morning is that Steve Padilla supporters have called off the balance of the recount in the Chula Vista City Council contest, thus cementing John McCann’s prior win. In the last few days Team Padilla shifted gears from the recount effort to contesting disallowed ballots (see below), then back to the recount, all to …
