San Diego, CA – The Rick Amato Show in recent months has dramatically grown a large, fiercely loyal audience of conservative online listeners who have come to call themselves ‘Amato Activists.’

Despite the late night hour (9pm-11pm PST) the audience stretches across all U.S. time zones and even includes dedicated conservative listeners in Europe.

On Tuesday, May, 24th the ‘Amato Activists’ demonstrated the power of their values and beliefs.

Rick In Rarified Company with Rove & Robert

San Diego based conservative radio talk show host Rick Amato (far left, pardon the expression) with his pals, conservative Hollywood activist and actor Robert Davi, with Republican political consultant, commentator and author Karl Rove. Rick recently had dinner in Los Angeles with Davi and Rove. Reportedly Rove chatted up Rick about the growing influence of his talk show in conservative circles, and had some highly complimentary things to say.

If you hear “Karl on Line Six” calling in any time soon, turn up the volume and stay tuned!

FRIENDS,

We have been inundated with email lately from friends and listeners all asking the same question: How does one achieve a ROCK ON shout-out from The Rick Amato Show either on-air or online at FB and Twitter?

This is in response to the astute observation that we have been awarding friends, followers and listeners with “ROCK ON”’s as of late.

It’s been an action-packed 2009 for conservative KCBQ Radio talk show host Rick Amato. Rick and I co-hosted a “Year in Review” program on December 23, which will also air again on Thursday, January 31. We picked the Top Ten Topics on the show over the past 12 months. It was not an easy task!

Are You Listening?

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

SDRadio.net, the well-read blog for and about everything San Diego radio, has named “The Rick Amato Show” as one of its “Best Radio Shows You Might Not Be Listening To.”  Read the post here.

Most San Diego Rostra readers are smarter than average and already in the know about Rick’s show, but if you haven’t had a chance to check it out do yourself a favor and tune in. You can listen live Monday through Thursday night, 9 – 11 p.m. on KCBQ AM 1170, or online at www.kcbq.com You can catch up with the show anytime via the archives on Rick’s own website at www.amatotalk.com

By supporting the sponsors of the show with your business and letting them know you’re listening, you’re doing your part to keep live, local, conservative and libertarian talk radio alive in San Diego.  Rick’s show is one of the few left offering a LOCAL forum by and for San Diegans. With a critical election ahead in 2010, “The Rick Amato Show” will provide a vital forum for San Diego County candidates and issues.

The year 2009 is just about in the history books. It may be gone but it is hardly forgotten on “The Rick Amato Show.”

Dozens of newsmakers and even more topics filled the airwaves nightly, adding up to hundreds of hours of live, local talk for San Diego. Rick has broken the news and made news too. From politics to pop culture, from cruise ships to zeppelins – what a ride!

Talk show host Rick Amato will broadcast a special show tonight from the San Diego County Republican Party Sheriff’s Candidate Forum & Statewide Straw Poll event at the Town & Country Hotel. The forum runs one hour beginning at 6 p.m.; the straw poll follows at 7 p.m.

Rick’s show will air from 9 to 11 p.m. with complete coverage of the event on KCBQ AM 1170 or www.kcbq.com

The straw poll is “Chicago-style” in that you “buy” your votes as a fundraiser for the local Republican Party. Your $10 ticket gets you one vote, but you can purchase more.

Congratulations to my friend and fellow radio talk show host Rick Amato for notching a BIG win at Tuesday night’s San Diego Press Club Journalism Awards. In his FIRST time ever entering this prestigious competition, Rick won first place in the Radio Interview category.

The winning entry from “The Rick Amato Show Presented by The Washington Times” originally aired in July 2008. It focused on the use of drugs with known drastic side effects such as suicidal behavior by the Veterans Administration in treating wounded veterans from the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Amato’s Take on the Sheriff’s Race

KCBQ AM-1170 and Washington Times Radio Talk Show Host Rick Amato recently weighed in on a sheriff’s candidate debate held September 12 in El Cajon….

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to sponsor and co-moderate a debate among the San Diego County Sheriff candidates.  It followed the East County TEA Party, where an estimated 1500 people attended. Questions were made available for the audience to ask of the candidates. All four candidates participated.

It was a loud, engaged audience with plenty of sparks flying among the candidates themselves. Here are my observations from the debate.
