Betty Rexford, you’ve lost another supporter
I guess I’m an idealist. I hold politicians to a higher standard (Which seems like an oxymoron). I’ve been a Rexford supporter and tried to swallow through everything that has been going on regarding her and the recall efforts. But the straw that broke the camel’s back was her website. Betty apparently believes that even though she promised a press conference to answer all of the claims against her (Which I have told her constantly that she has to do), that there is no longer any need to have one because of this website. Betty might be innocent, but her constant refusal to have the promised media conference, and walking out of a Council meeting when speakers are speaking against her, has turned me from a supporter, to supporting the recall. Betty, please resign. Your actions lead credence that politicians think they are just above the rest of us. Instead of Poway being the “City in the Country”, it is becoming the “Joke of the Country”.
This morning I received an email from a supporter (Yes, they still exist, and I was one up until several weeks ago. What convinced me to join the recall effort was the email between Betty and the City Manager) of Betty Rexford. The email wanted people to recall all of the good that Betty has done for Poway. Well, yes, I will admit that she has, but what got me was how this letter reminded me of former Congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham. Cunningham, in my view, was a good Congressman, prior to joining the ranks of politicians who couldn’t resist the joys of power (In other words, the fringe benefits of knowing lobbyists too well AND getting caught). He did lots of good for his District and the nation. But all of his good works doesn’t make up for becoming a corrupt politician. As I stated earlier, Betty did a lot for Poway, but she has now overstepped her authority as a Councilmember, which is uncalled for. None of her good works will ever make up for the tarnished name that she has given to Poway. BTW, I’m STILL waiting for Betty’s press conference in which, hopefully, will be before the recall effort turns in their petition. I mean, with all the “dirt” that is hitting her, if I was her, I would have had that press conference a LONG time ago.
Rexford Recall Burning with New Revelations
The recall effort against Poway City Councilwoman Betty Rexford is gaining significant momentum. Most anyone who knows or hears of the Betty shenanigans is quite incensed that an elected official would use the power of office to push the city into going after her neighbors.
But, new information makes some of that seem to pale in comparison. The latest just received from recall organizer Steve Vaus…
During the 2003 Cedar Fire Betty Rexford had her own personal fire protection, Courtesy of Poway Fire Dept.

The deeper I dig into the hundreds and hundreds of pages of sworn testimony in the Betty Rexford case, the uglier it gets.
