The San Diego Reader reports Lori Saldana is citing reasons to avoid debating Republican Congressman Brian Bilbray on TV or radio (probable causes for that explained in our Rostra story below). Stop the presses, an out-0f-office challenger does NOT want to debate the incumbent before the largest possible audience! In a remarkable bit of reasoning, the Reader’s Dorian Hargrove quotes Saldana objecting to live radio or TV broadcast debates, writing, “I’m happy to join in the call for debates in this open seat for Congress,” BUT then adds that she will “insist that these discussions take place in the community, not in broadcast studios.” OK, but Rostra readers may draw their own conclusions about why Ms. Saldana fears having the largest possible voter audience hear and see her directly, unfiltered through the MSM. Repeat: a challenger rejecting broadcast debates with an Incumbent! Now we have seen everything.
