Valencia Beaten to a Pulp

I THINK I am breaking this story…

At approximately 1:30AM this morning Andrew Valencia, candidate for Sweetwater Union High School Board, was assaulted while delivering signs near Imperial Beach. Valencia, who was accompanied by volunteers for most of the night, was momentarily alone in a local fast-food restaurant taking a quick break from dropping off candidate signs when two males in dark “hoodies” approached from behind and attacked him. No money was taken, and the men ran off as quickly as they’d appeared after inflicting serious injury to Valencia.

The entire incident was witnessed by several people and captured on the stores security cameras. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived shortly after to take a report and bring Valencia to the hospital. Valencia suffered major damage to his head, face, mouth, neck, and upper-body.

This assault comes only days after a completely unrelated incident involving Valencia’s opponent, Sweetwater School Board President Arlie Ricasa, became the target of an intense ethics investigation for using taxpayer dollars for personal campaign use.
