Religious Liberty

The State is required to withhold the sword from an individual’s right to practice his faith.

So you think the U.S. is a geographic area where individuals are free to pursue their faith despite the ethic that comes from such?

What if an individual’s faith rejects self evident truth and inalienable rights?

Let’s think.

Did John Locke believe all men should be free to believe their own ideas about faith?

I don’t think so. Even if he did would a Christ follower place Locke’s thoughts above Scripture?

If Christ is sovereign and Creator how does a Christ follower uphold the religious freedom of a neighbor who rejects “the laws of nature and Nature’s God”?

See the Barbary Wars.

Jefferson vs Pasha Karamanli of Tripoli. 1801-1805. First Barbary War. Islam vs Christianity.

Did the Tripolean Ambassador to Britain justify the enslavement of American sailors by referencing the Koran?

Was Jefferson supposed to allow Muslim sailors in the Mediterranean to enslave American sailors?

Think.

Breitbart said politics is downstream from culture. Sure, but I would ask what is culture downstream from?

Answer: Christ & Christian ethics.

I’m going to take the position that Islam is a false faith. Mohammed  doesn’t compare with Christ.

Mohammed …

Didn’t claim to be God.

Didn’t perform miracles.

Didn’t die on a cross.

Didn’t rise from the dead.

Wasn’t a man of peace.

If we want to interpret the First Amendment as ‘freedom from Christ’ instead of freedom to uphold our pursuit of Christ we have signed the death warrant for liberty and America.

Peace.

Think.
