From the Desk of Governor Pete Wilson

I strongly endorse former California State Senator Joel Anderson for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors (2nd District) to fill the vacancy that will be created by the retirement of Supervisor Dianne Jacob. Serving as a member of the County Board of Supervisors is a big and important job. As a State Senator, Joel Anderson has served most of the voters in the 2nd District. He demonstrated that he has the experience and proven leadership the board needs to make important decisions that will shape the future of San Diego County.

Throughout his legislative career in the Assembly and State Senate, Joel has achieved significant goals for the people of not only the 2nd District but the entire state. We need his leadership skills, intelligence and integrity on the Board of Supervisors to meet the challenges confronting San Diego County.

Joel will work tirelessly to ensure public safety, to relieve congestion and maintain safe roads, to remove barriers to affordable housing, to deal with homelessness, and with other priority problems demanding action.

In the State Senate, Joel Anderson has been a strong, impressive leader whose judgment, persuasive powers, and sheer grit and determination have won victories against even the strongest opposition. One example, among many, was his battle to overcome opponents of his advocacy of in-state tuition benefits for California military veterans.

That is why I so enthusiastically urge voters of the 2nd District to elect former Senator Joel Anderson to the Board of Supervisors!

He will demand and get all the information he needs to exercise very sound judgment.

He will set priorities for spending your tax dollars.

Then, decisively, Joel will make the right decisions…. And fight for what is in your best interest!

It is called having the courage of your convictions.
