As a lifelong resident of San Diego’s 7th District, and now as the District’s elected representative, I am always looking for ways to improve our residents’ quality of life. Through my years as a San Diegan, I have strived to find different ways to connect with our community. I have found that community events are one of the key components to realizing the full economic and cultural potential of our region.
These events not only increase cohesion within our neighborhoods, but also can be regarded as educational opportunities for our working families. For this reason, I wanted to highlight a homeowner outreach event that will be hosted by Bank of America from May 7-9, 2013. If Bank of America services your mortgage, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you.
The event, which will be located at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Hotel Circle, will run from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.daily, and will provide information and assistance in areas such as loan modifications, housing alternatives with short sales or deeds-in-lieu, as well as helping to strategically plan for your future. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a specialist who can help to answer your questions and alleviate your housing concerns.
As the foreclosure rates in San Diego decrease to pre-recession levels and we see a reduction in mortgage defaults, it is imperative that our residents acquire the knowledge and advice to avoid any future pitfalls. We have seen the adverse effects of California’s unpredictable housing market, and the families who serve as the backbone of our local economy cannot afford to be misinformed.
No one has been immune to this historic recession in California, and if the housing bubble has affected you, I urge you to take advantage of the personal and professional advice being offered by Bank of America and its partners. As our economy stabilizes, your ability to resolve your housing issues in the present will lead to a successful future for your family, our neighborhoods and the City of San Diego.
