Jeff Stone – A Strong Record of Public Safety for the 36th Senate District

California’s release of over 20,000 convicted felons is appalling!

More than ever we need strong leaders who will take swift action to protect our families, schools, neighborhoods, and support our rights to self-protection.

When it comes to public safety, no one has a stronger record than Jeff Stone.  In fact, no candidate running for State Senate in the 36th District except Jeff Stone has ever authored or passed any law to protect our families from violent criminals.

As Riverside County Supervisor, Jeff has been tough against criminals while tight-fisted against wasteful spending and he has been leading the fight against sexual predators in Riverside County for years.

Just this month in response to the tragic murders of Chelsea King and Amber Dubois from Poway and Escondido, Jeff proposed the strongest sex-offender notification ordinance of any county in California; and it was just adopted by their County Board of Supervisors.

Under Jeff’s new ordinance, county residents will now receive e-mail alerts and postcards notifying them when a registered sex offender moves into their neighborhoods.  Jeff’s ordinance prohibits registered sex offenders from living within one and a half miles of any school, library, park or recreation center where minors gather.  The ordinance also closes gaps in the Megan’s Law registry and in local law-enforcement tracking efforts.

Because the state controlled Megan’s Law web site is often incomplete and out-of-date, Supervisor Stone’s new ordinance creates a Riverside County web site that lists each and every registered sex offender.  The district attorney’s office, sheriff’s department and other agencies will monitor, track and enforce the new sex-offender registry.

But this isn’t the first time Jeff Stone has taken swift action against sex offenders.

When first elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2004, Jeff created Riverside County’s Sexual Predator Internet Decoy Enforcement Program (SPIDER) to combat on-line sexual predators that threaten our children in their own bedrooms.  His program has caught and convicted over fifty sexual predators from as far away as Buffalo NY to Calexico CA.

Jeff is a fierce defender of the right of law abiding citizens to protect themselves against criminals.  He authored a resolution, that the County Sheriff has adopted, making it easier for residents to carry concealed firearms for personal protection.  He took this action when the Legislature irresponsibly voted to release thousands of felons from our State and local Prisons.

Jeff is not just a fierce defender of gun rights; he’s also a stalwart critic against illegal immigration and the crimes that come with it.  The federal government’s feeble protection of our border with Mexico costs Californian’s $10.5 billion a year.  Jeff wants to station our National Guard on the border to stop the flow and he wants to prohibit welfare and jobs for illegal immigrants.  Jeff has taken such a strong stand that he has earned the endorsement of Arizona’s Maricopa County Sheriff, Joe Arpaio.

Jeff has built a solid reputation for integrity, upholding the highest ethical standards so much so that he has earned the support of Governor George Deukmejian, California Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and Congressman Darrell Issa.

They know, like I do, that Jeff Stone will go to Sacramento to keep public safety the top priority while forcefully challenging the public employees unions and the liberal Democrats that have taken California to the brink of bankruptcy.

Jeff Stone is the kind of real conservative Republican leader that we should elect to the State Senate.  He will be more than just a vote in Sacramento; he will be a voice for the people.
