For Third Year in a Row, DeMaio’s Office Helps Organize Clothing Drive for Local Charity “Second Chance.” Urges Support From San Diego Residents

As the holiday season begins this week Councilmember DeMaio’s office will be turning in several bags of business clothing to the charity organization “Second Chance” to help local residents working to get back on their feet.

Second Chance provides work readiness training and job placement services, supportive housing and financial literacy programs for recovering drug addicts, homeless veterans and at-risk youth to help them implement a self-sustaining life.

The agency is nationally-known for its work readiness training program that develops appropriate work-place behavior, effective interviewing and teaching a positive outlook toward working and employment.

Second chances rarely occur by chance.  This is why this organization needs your support.  The charity is accepting second hand business attire in good condition as well as cash donations.

To make a donation or to find more information on Second Chance please visit the following website.

“Volunteerism and giving back to the community is what this season is all about.  Please do your part to help San Diegans in need.”
