Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) on Thursday took a puff from a nicotine vaporizer during a hearing, a protest of a proposed ban of e-cigarettes on airplanes.
“This is called a vaporizer. There’s no combustion. There’s no carcinogens,” Hunter said after exhaling a white cloud. “Smoking has gone down as the use of vaporizers has gone up.

While I compliment the congressman for his stand on this issue I disagree with how he arrived there.
It is my hope that one day conservative Republicans will approach legislation based on their oath to uphold and defend our inalienable rights and the United States Constitution.
When we take positions based upon personal opinion rather than our great ideas we lower ourselves to the level of our opposition and give up the high ground. I am confident Hunter would not do so on the battlefield and would like that he not practice such a maneuver in committee.
Perhaps the congressman made such a comment during the hearing and if he did I compliment him and apologize for of what I was not aware.
Here is an example where the left can be seen as obstructionists to a compromise
