The San Diego Deputy District Attorneys Association and San Diegans Against Crime have endorsed Mayor Steve Vaus for San Diego County Supervisor.
“Mayor Vaus is strongly committed to public safety and is a steadfast supporter of the Deputy District Attorneys who ensure that the dangerous criminals in our community receive the tough sentences they deserve,” said Bryn Kirvin, President of the San Diego Deputy District Attorneys Association. “He has been an outstanding leader as Mayor of Poway, and we are confident he will be an outstanding Supervisor,” continued Kirvin.
“Steve Vaus is mayor of the safest city in San Diego County,” said Jim Koerber, President of San Diegans Against Crime. “We know that as a member of the Board of Supervisors, Mayor Vaus will bring the same determination to work with us to make San Diego County an even safer place for its residents,” Koerber concluded.
“It is an honor to be supported by San Diego County’s Deputy District Attorneys and San Diegans Against Crime,” said Mayor Vaus. “I share their commitment to public safety and as Supervisor, I will make sure that the skilled prosecutors in San Diego have all the support they need to ensure public safety,” continued Vaus.
The San Diego Deputy District Attorneys Association advocates for and represents the men and women who serve as prosecutors in the San Diego County District Attorney’s office.
San Diegans Against Crime seeks to serve and protect the public by outreach, by education, and by political activity designed to elect responsible public officials and by supporting political initiatives that promote public safety and public service.
Mayor Steve Vaus is a candidate for Supervisor District 2, which is currently represented by Dianne Jacob, whose final term on the Board expires in 2020.
Steve Vaus has been the Mayor of Poway since 2014 and was a member of the Poway City Council for two years before that. Mayor Vaus also has decades of executive experience. He owns a Poway production company which has served clients such as Cox Communications, Barona Resort, the U.S. Navy, and others.
Steve and his wife Corrie, an award-winning journalist and video producer, have lived in Poway for 26 years. The Vaus’ have four children and five grandsons.

While this is a nice endorsement, I’m more impressed with Senator Anderson’s list of endorsements….where you don’t see many downtown special interest people, now do you?

I sincerely hope this is a catalyst for a serious challenge to hunter from a republican who wants to support the betterment of east county, rather than one who seeks to have east county support the betterment of him.
