El Cajon Mayor, Coronado Councilman Support 39th Senate District Candidate
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. (May 12, 2016) —- Businessman John Renison of Coronado today announced key local endorsements for his 39th Senate District run, including El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells and Coronado City Councilman and Mayoral candidate Richard Bailey. The Republican will square off against Democrat Assemblywoman Toni Atkins (D-San Diego) in the 39th Senate District. The incumbent, Senator Marty Block (D-San Diego), has dropped out of the race.
Renison recently picked up key state Senate endorsements from the Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) and well as Senators Joel Anderson (R-Alpine), Pat Bates (R-Laguna Niguel), Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte), Bob Huff (R-San Dimas), Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga), Jim Nielsen (R-Gerber), Jeff Stone (R-Riverside) and Andy Vidak (R-Hanford).
“I’m honored to have the support of Mayor Wells and Councilman Bailey,” said Renison, 39. “I look forward to working with them on state policies that support local economic growth in prosperity throughout the 39th Senate District.”
An entrepreneur and family man, the start-up whiz revolutionized shipping with Piggyback Technologies. Alongside Piggyback, Renison has served as CEO for the past 20 years with Britton Customhouse Brokers, Inc., a U.S. Customs brokerage and logistics service provider, and GFT Freight.
Renison lives in Coronado with his wife, Renata, and two daughters. They belong to Sacred Heart Church, where his children also attend school.
The 39th Senate District includes most of the city of San Diego, stretching along the coastline to Del Mar and pushing out to the I-15 corridor. Current voter registration pegs the district at nearly 37 percent Democratic and 28 percent Republican leaving nearly 30 percent undeclared.
