. . . is not that great. I was happy he is stopping medical marijuana outlet harassment by the city, but is that really a burning issue? Beyond that Filner’s start in office has not made me optimistic.
- He cancelled new managed competition actions, claiming that more study is needed and that service levels have suffered. The Miramar landfill competition and street sweeping services were won by city workers, but at lower cost to the city; why is Filner complaining? There is no evidence of correlation between over paying for a service and better levels of service. Kudos to Kevin Faulconer for seeking to push ahead anyway.
One of the great things about San Diego Rostra is its ability to attract a variety of voices with different political views.
Rostra is a center-right site, but local journalists and some well-known Democrats are regular readers and commentators. With monthly hits by unique visitors as high as 20,000, Rostra has become a must read for numerous San Diegans.
Where else can you find a site that blends colorful personalities like Mighty Thor and Thor’s Assistant with political stalwarts like Darrell Issa, Brian Bilbray, Nathan Fletcher, Carl DeMaio and Bonnie Dumanis?
This is apparently from November 8 when our own San Diego Occupiers assault a woman who films them (on a public street). Anyone who thinks these people truly do have a peaceful agenda are terribly mistaken. The Occupy movement is based on anger, envy, and mob righteousness. The number of videos surfacing of Occupiers spewing hate and vulgarities is never-ending. Trying to conduct reasonable dialogue with these people is a lost cause. Why the media don’t report on what this group truly represents is disturbing, especially when looking back at all the concern that was aired over the Tea Party’s purported racist, violent agenda.
