Duffy Scores Perfect with Labor Council

Sheriff candidate Jim Duffy may have already staked his claim as the union candidate, scoring both the Deputy Sheriff’s Association and state PORAC endorsements. But, even those organizations over the years have backed candidates, including Republicans, with less than perfect labor credentials.

It was very likely that the Labor Council would follow suit with an endorsement of Duffy, no doubt, even if he failed to be perfectly aligned with all of their positions.

So, why would Duffy feel the need to be perfectly aligned, thus giving the appearance of a “completely-in-the-pocket-of-labor” candidate?

As the attached questionnaire clearly shows, Duffy marked every single Labor Council answer as an “Agree Strongly” with the union position. Not even one “Agree Somewhat” in the mix. It’s as if he just went down the list and marked 5, 5 , 5, etc. without a thought. The questionnaire instructions even include a, “We are looking for honesty, not a perfect score.”

Was Duffy being honest, or was he looking for the perfect score? Maybe both.

Would someone check to make sure Duffy is still a Republican?

  1. You feed from the union trough, they own you. One of the biggest issues San Diego has is the power of the unions. It goes to the heart of the matter. Whom do you serve and why, the unions and the power they give you or the people. Another take, what will you do or not do to get elected or what will you do to get reelected.

  2. Duffy has decided to toss all his eggs in the basket of the left, to ensure he makes it through the primary. It’s not a bad strategy. Could kill him in November though.

  3. Has Duffy gone insane?

Does he have any republican endorsements that can be pulled?

Who is this guy’s political consultant? Even a Democrat would have to realize this is a center right county….

  4. I have a hard time believing Duffy himself filled out that survey. This guy is no liberal. Just look as his endorsements on his webpage. SPEAKING OF WEBPAGE WILL JIM PLEASE MAKE THE PAGE LESS UGLY, AND FIX THE NUMEROUS TYPE-OS?

  5. When you read the form it looks like it was filled out by someone looking to kiss ass. ALL 5 of 5s? REALLY JIM.

LOOK I THINK MANY READERS HERE KNOW JIM, AND KNOW THAT THIS DOES NOT REFLECT THE OPINIONS HE HAS DEMONSTRATED UP UNTIL NOW.

WHAT GIVES? DID HE NOT KNOW THIS WAS GOING PUBLIC?

  6. UPDATE: Thursday 5:40 PM Oct 8th. No response.

Appears that the Duffy “”perfect” labor union survey is indeed genuine. Even includes what is apparently his signature.
