Whitman on the Rise, Poizner Collapse

There is a long way between now and the June primary, but it looks to me from comparing the numbers that Gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman is on the rise, candidate Steve Poizner in Collapse. There was a Field poll over a month ago that had it 22 Whitman, 20 Campbell, 9 Poizner. This week a Probolsky Research poll found it to be 34 Whitman, 13 Campbell, 6 Poizner. 6? I’m not on the ballot and I’m statistically tied with Poizner. These numbers are all the more surprising to me given the voting scandal that Whitman went through these past few months.

Now how does this impact us locally? Much of the group that tends to stick together tends to lean to Whitman: Bilbray, Issa, Wyland, Fletcher, Plescia (also noticed Dichiara and Dorsee on the Whitman payroll which could have an impact). Team Poizner is a little less well off, with Anderson and Garrick (didn’t see anyone I recognized on the payroll). Anderson is not always lined up with the ‘north county gang’ but I found Garrick’s split interesting. The websites don’t list where the Party leaders are, but I haven’t noticed many of the normal shenanigans down here when one side is favored. Anyone else know where everyone is?
