How did successful, well-qualified conservative attorney Gary George Kreep get a  ‘not qualified’ rating from a panel of  a  local  attorneys Association reviewing candidates for Judge?  POSSIBLE  ANSWER : public records show the three-person panel assigned to interview Kreep are All Democrats, and ALL past Democrat donors (to Senator John Edwards (!), the Democratic National Committee, California Democratic Party, etc)!  Gary Kreep graduated USD’s famously tough law school with a Juris Doctor in 1975, by the way.

…..GARY KREEP’S PANEL PROFILE

To avoid personalizing things, I’m not going to name the Judicial Evaluators who initially interviewed Kreep, but will refer to them only as Evaluator 1, Evaluator 2 and Evaluator 3.  Here is what the public record shows about their political history.  Rostra readers are invited to evaluate – the – evaluators for potential biases as they read.

Evaluator 1:  Campaign donor to then-Senator John Edwards,  and Rep. Richard Gephardt  (Minority Democratic leader of the U.S. House at the time).  Evaluator 1 is a registered Democrat in SD County.

Evaluator 2:   Two donations to the California Democratic Party,  one donation to the  “DNC Services Corporation”.  Evaluator 2 is also a registered Democrat in SD County.

Evaluator 3:   Two donations to Crystal Crawford, the Democratic candidate against Republican Assemblyman  Martin Garrick,  former GOP Minority Leader.  Evaluator 3 is a registered Democrat in SD County.

No reportable donations to partisan GOP candidates or groups were found for these panel members in a review of the public record donation databases.

…..CANDIDATE  QUESTIONED ON POLITICAL BELIEFS

Not surprisingly, these three people then vigorously grilled Kreep about his conservative views and implied he was antagonistic to ethnic minorities.  They were unmoved by personal testimonials for Kreep from many Latino clients and associates. The sessions were more like an MSNBC  interview program than a judicial proceeding!  Their ruling was appealed to a 2nd panel, but it was reaffirmed as a matter of course.

It is worth noting that two of the three people evaluating Kreep have about one-half  his 37 years ‘ experience as an active attorney in California.  It is almost laughable they would say the founder and executive director of the U.S.  Justice Foundation  is lacking in qualifications.

…..ALTERNATIVE  SOURCE :  “THE JUDGE VOTER GUIDE”

Rostra readers have another option, for “Unbiased” Judicial evaluations, the online Judge Voter Guide which independently rates Judicial candidates based on a wide-ranging series of interviews with  experts and attorneys.  Here’s how this truly Unbiased group rated candidates in the Kreep (office 34) race.  Evaluations are from 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest score.

OFFICE  34

Gary George Kreep: 9

Kreep’s Deputy DA opponent received a score of  7.

  1. I saw Kreep at the Tri-City Tea Party forum and he was VERY impressive. His willingness to take on the hard issues (eg-defending the “Tea Party Marine” in a pro-military town) demonstrates that he has the ability to ignore public bias and focus on the Law.

Kreep’s going to be a strict Originalist; we know that. I can’t wait to vote him, Berry, and Miller to the bench

  2. Mr. Kreep has a great reputation in the county – in fact, it is why Peed did not get the 2/3rd’s vote for an endorsement by the Rep Party. Good Luck Mr. Kreep!

  3. I appreciate the positive comments and the support of those who have filed comments to this article. This Tuesday’s election is now up to the voters, and they will decide whether the San Diego downtown power establishment, or those who want our Constitution preserved, will prevail.

    Gary Kreep
