San Diego’s Ron Nehring  stepped down as State GOP Chairman last week, owing to term limits, but  Tony Krvaric was elected  CA-GOP  Vice Chairman at the same convention of 1,000 delegates in Sacramento.  Tony succeeds Jon Fleischman of Orange County, the publisher of Rostra’s media partner, The Flash Report.    Krvaric’s win is seen as a state Vote of Confidence,  reflecting the San Diego GOP’s successful Nov. 2010  election season, winning all 15 of its local priority campaigns.

The styles of San Diego county’s Republican and Democratic Chairs are a study in contrasts.  Tony Krvaric  is  ebullient, enthusiastic,  colorful and effective.  Democratic Chairman Jess Durfee is more the quiet,  inside player,  and also very effective.   The two men prove there is more than one way to be a successful County Political Chair!

Congratulations to Tony Krvaric on becoming  California Vice Chairman.  This  development assures San Diego county will have two influential voices in State GOP affairs, since immediate past State Chairman Ron Nehring will remain on the policy-setting Board of Directors.

Among the Key local campaigns the San Diego GOP aided last Fall were wins by Supervisors Bill Horn and Ron Roberts,  Assessor/Recorder Ernie Dronenburg,   Carlsbad’s Farrah Douglas,  Escondido’s Marie Waldron, Sam Abed and Ed Gallo, Oceanside’s Gary Felien, and Lorie Zapf in San Diego council district 6.
