Here is my prediction regarding Obama’s State of the Union address tonight.
First of all; (Now hold on to your seats) We will hear that the State of the Union is good! Whew! What a relief! While watching the Republicans bite their lips in an attempt to hold in the laughter at such an assessment and avoid a glaring New York Times editorial about “mean spiritedness,” we will then watch Obama finish his speech.
The speech itself will sound something like this:
“Blah, blah, blah..Bi-Partisanship…Blah, blah, blah…the American people…Blah, blah, blah…Tone down the rhetoric…Blah, blah, blah…A more civil discourse…Blah, blah, blah…Reach across the aisle…Blah, blah, blah…the American people…Blah, blah, blah…Bi-Partisanship…Blah, blah, blah…If Republicans can come up with any ideas of their own, I’d be happy to listen…Blah, blah, blah…Bi-Partisanship…Blah, blah, blah…the American people…Blah, blah, blah…the poor and needy…Blah, blah, blah..Bi-Partisanship…Blah, blah, blah…the American people…Blah, blah, blah…Nice green jobs..Blah, blah, blah..Bi-Partisanship…Blah, blah, blah…the American people…Blah, blah, blah…Bi-Partisanship…Blah, blah, blah…the American people…Blah, blah, blah…Tone down the rhetoric…Blah, blah, blah…A more civil discourse…
Hmm…I wonder if TV Land will be repeating The Andy Griffith Show during this time. But even a documentary on how to assemble a flashlight would be preferable.
The Bob Siegel Show can be heard every Sunday at 3:00 PM and Saturdays at 11:00 PM (Pacific Time) at KCBQ 1170 on the dial or KCBQ.com to listen live over the internet. Shows can also be downloaded from www.bobsiegel.net.

Bob:
Your KCBQ radio today (Jan. 30th) was exceptional, as
your movie reviewer opened listeners’ eye about the
improbable, but enduring, impact of Religious faith in
Hollywood films.
I hope you can excerpt some of Mark’s observations for
a post here at Rostra, notably the obligatory Top 10 list
of major faith-themed films.
Your shows are always thought-provoking, but this was
well above your usual high standards.
