We received an email saying that the moderators’ “duty” is to monitor the blog only and keep our opinions to ourselves.
We’re very glad now to be informed of the rules for OUR blog.
We provide quite a bit of latitude and seldom refuse comments. The fact that we’ve needed to weigh in on the recent Poway Unified discussion moreso than for other threads speaks to the passion of those involved in the issue. We’ll continue to use our best judgement to do as we see fit.
In short, our “duty” is to tell you we can do whatever it is we damn well please. We are free to do so.
You are free to choose to read. Or not. Or go elsewhere.
Thank you.

Amen.
This Is a blog filled with conservative and libertarian authors– naturally, we respect property rights. Good property owners police their property.
I can be acerbic in my criticism and pointed in my questions but everything I say here is what I would say in TA’s living room, in normal conversation.
The rules are here to welcome, not stifle debate. If you want a free for all, where anonymous commenters can call people names, make unsubstantiated claims, slander people, and act like imbeciles, I have a list of blogs for you to frequent.
There is a reason. Most elected officials in San Diego read this site– it’s because the property owner keeps his yard clean
Send me that list, sir.
