While he isn’t the first Legislator to receive a DUI in Sacramento, my info says he is the fourth Democrat Senator to have charges filed this year in our State Capitol. Is that a new record?

Sen. Ben Hueso, D-San Diego, was arrested on Thursday night on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Sacramento County jail’s website registers a Benjamin Hueso being booked with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher at 3:27 a.m. He was arrested by the California Highway Patrol, south Sacramento division. The arrest was made at 2:39 a.m. at 15th and X streets, according to the sheriff’s office. No other details were available.
Sacramento Sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa Bowman confirmed that Hueso remained in jail at 10 a.m. Friday. .
The arrest took place hours after Hueso had taken part in a Latino Caucus dinner at the Il Fornaio restaurant honoring Latino legislators who are leaving office.
“That event was over around 9 p.m., so there is a big gap there,” said caucus spokesman Roger Salazar.
First elected to the Legislature in 2010, Hueso traded the Assembly for the Senate last year, claiming a seat left vacant when Rep. Juan Vargas, D-San Diego, won a spot in Congress.
