San Diego – Last Thursday night on the hanger deck of the USS Midway, the San Diego County Gun Owners PAC (SDCGO) held its first annual dinner. In attendance were over 350 Second Amendment enthusiasts, including elected officials, veterans, and people from every political party and all walks of life.

“I’m thrilled to see so many Second Amendment supporters stepping forward from across San Diego County, joining us not only for a dinner but for a prolonged effort to elect pro Second Amendment politicians and stop gun control politicians at the local level,” Michael Schwartz, the Executive Director of SDCGO noted.

The keynote speaker, Sheriff Paul Babeu, is a well-known Second Amendment supporter and two term Sheriff in Pinal County, Arizona.

“The Second Amendment is our Second Amendment for a reason, it’s there so our citizens have the ability to defend against a tyrannical government,” stated Babeu. “I am happy to be here, to see so many pro Second Amendment people excited to stand up for our rights, and honored to be able to speak to such a diverse crowd.”

During the dinner the San Diego County Gun Owners released its first commercial. “Leaving California” follows the life of a family man being forced to leave California due to gun laws and discusses how the mountain of gun control laws heaped on law abiding citizens in the Golden State are forcing upstanding citizens to make a tough choice, become a felon for owning a gun, or leave the state.

“We are encouraged by the support we have received and we are ready to make a statement this election cycle,” stated Schwartz. “If you are a supporter of the Second Amendment, we encourage you to say enough is enough and join us!”

  1. Wish I could help the gun groups out. They price themselves out of the retiree market.

Most groups do not understand that retirees can contribute time and labor easier then money.

  2. Harold and other Retirees,

I believe the San Diego County Gun Owners ((
    its executive director Michael Schwartz
would be happy for TIME-donors, who can aid by telephone calling or by precinct walking or other volunteer work.
