I have put together a more detailed demographic breakdown for various jurisdictions in this excel file. Each jurisdiction is its own worksheet within the file. The jurisdictions included are: Countywide, City of San Diego, San Diego City Council (Districts 1, 3, 7, 9), Supervisor District 3, 52nd Congressional District, and Chula Vista City Council – District 4.

If you have questions on any of these breakdowns, or would like a breakdown on a specific jurisdiction not listed, please comment below or e-mail me at mpherron@gmail.com.

Note: These returns are based on data provided by the Registrar of Voters to Political Data Inc. Accordingly, there is likely a delay of at least 1-2 days relative to the actual number of ballots returned.

    Can you please put the cursor in A1 in each tab? It is very unprofessional to randonly leave the cursor in another cell.

    @Alistair:

    While the etiquette regarding cursor placement in Excel has varied (dating all the way back to the VisiCalc days), there are essentially two settled schools of thought on the issue. While one maintains the presumption that the user will benefit most consistently from a cursor that begins at A1, the countervailing school posits that modern computing and the proliferation of “big data” require a flexibility and versatility that is simply prohibitive if starting from A1.

    A similar example would be the ongoing dispute over the necessity of the oxford comma. While there are certainly two sides to the argument, one is rooted in common sense while the other in madness.

    Nonetheless, to swiftly resolve your issue you can adhere to the following keyboard shortcut to safely and quickly return your cursor to A1:

    Function+Ctrl+Left arrow if you are using Mac.
    Control+Home if you are using Windows.

  3. Alistair,

    It is a shameful lack of gratitude to publicly criticize Mr. Herron for such a trivial issue as cursor placement when he has graciously taken the time and effort to compile this data and share it, for FREE, with SDRostra readers. It takes borderline autistic levels of social incompetency to be so infatuated with an inane detail to be compelled to criticize him without so much as a “thank you” for the overall effort. He left his email. Had you been truly concerned with assisting him in his professional development, you could have sent him a private message conveying your concerns and we could have all been spared your repugnant display of self importance.

    Mr. Herron,

    As one who has only dipped her toes into “big data”, I appreciate your efforts and acknowledge the effort it took to bring us this information. Thank You!

  4. We were simply going to say how unprofessional it is to randonly spell randomly however you want.
