San Diego City Councilwoman Lorie Zapf Endorses Steve Danon for County Supervisor

San Diego City Councilwoman Lorie Zapf today formally announced today her endorsement of Steve Danon for County Supervisor in 2012.

“It’s time for fresh new ideas at the County. That’s why I’m happy to endorse Steve,” said Councilwoman Zapf. “Steve has made it clear that he wants to work together with other local entities to solve our region’s problems. The world is a much different place than it was 20 years ago and the way we deliver services to the public is changing. Steve and I strongly believe in reforming local government and we will work in a partnership with the County of San Diego and the City of San Diego to put our neighborhoods first,” continued Zapf.

“Councilwoman Zapf represents refreshing new leadership at the City of San Diego, and I’m honored to have her support,” said Danon. “We both have young families and we want to promote and protect our quality of life by providing an environment where all of our children can thrive by receiving a solid education and having strong after-school programs and recreational activities,” said Danon. “Most of all, we want to secure a strong local economy where all of our children can grow up and find good paying jobs right here in our county. We all want our children to have more opportunities and a higher standard of living,” continued Danon.

San Diego City Councilwoman Lorie Zapf joins the growing list of endorsements for Danon including: Father Joe Carroll, Congressman Brian Bilbray, California State Senator Joel Anderson, Encinitas Mayor James Bond, San Marcos Mayor Jim Desmond, Lemon Grove Mayor Mary Sessom, County School Board Member Susan Hartley, Encinitas Deputy Mayor and Chairman of SANDAG Jerome Stocks, County School Board Member John Witt, former Encinitas Mayor Christy Guerin, Encinitas City Councilwoman Kristin Gaspar, the Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County representing more than 2,400 sheriff deputies, Escondido Police Officers’ Association and the Peace Officers Research Association of California representing more than 62,000 public safety personnel and others.
