News to Rostra. Not.

Good call, Barry ! Thanks to the Mighty Thor and Jimmy
V…. the Live, Local and Late-breaking SD Rostra had this
major story a full SIX DAYS ago.
Kudos to all involved.
I’ve been a big fan of Roger over the years but have lost interest since he went to a national format. I missed the local angle. And I agree with those who said that his show is just a rehash of what has already been said at the national level earlier in the day. I won’t miss Roger’s depart from KOGO. I love LaDona Harvey’s shoot from the hip, straight to the point stories. Her local angle is just what I want to hear in the afternoon before I get the national talk from television at night (FOX).
If there is a bigger picture here, it’s that KOGO is tightening the belt and cutting costs. They can’t say it, but imagine how much it cost to produce FM95.7 and getting rid of that station and simulcasting KOGO on AM and FM obviously trimmed costs. I’m sure they are feeling the pinch of today’s bad economy and had to trim somewhere just like the rest of us.
Thanks to all who have reported on this story. I followed it all weekend. I’m glad to have found SDRostra!
Not a big fan of Roger’s national show and will choose local variety (LaDonna, Mike Slater) over it any day. Replace Chip Franklin with Mike Slater and I’m all KOGO all the time.
Like Jim, I’m impressed by the reportage here. Not just opinions, but genuine scoops! And the scoops seem to be happening more frequently.
Thanks, Bradley, it’s the high salaries and other incentives we provide all our bloggers.
