Remember Sunroad?

Just checking.  I bring this up because “sex” scandals are so juicy to watch that we forget the useful purpose they serve–to deflect attention from corruption and malfeasance.  To wit:

Whitewater (1997)—Lewinsky (1998)
Benghazi (9/11/2012)—Petraeus (11/12/2012)

The Obama Administration has been absolutely incredible in its ability to inflict media ADD, all of which is eventually called a partisan attack by Republicans.  Locally, the media are all to eager to dangle that bait in front of local Republicans.

It never ends well when Republicans take that bait.

1- Mayor Bob Filner kicked a Deputy City Attorney out of a meeting.
2- Mayor Bob Filner is being investigated by the Department of Justice for his Sunroad pay-for-play deal.
3- Mayor Bob Filner admitted to being  a lecherous, old man and the Democratic Party leadership knew it for years.

#2 might get Filner a striped jump suit and a job making license plates.

Did Filner grope women or are Gonzalez, Saldana, and Frye pathological liars?  We’ll find out soon enough. Watch quietly and prepare to lead.  San Diego is going to need it.
