Rostra: The House of Cards Issue
Peters wins, while many questions remain…
This morning’s statement from Carl DeMaio:
With the vote tally coming up short for my Congressional campaign, I want to tell you how much I appreciate your support.
Our campaign made national headlines for the reform agenda we have achieved in San Diego and the bold reforms we proposed for Congress. Thousands of supporters across the country and here in San Diego were excited by our calls that the Republican Party become more inclusive while adopting a positive approach to advancing bold ideas.
While the false personal smears we have had to endure during this campaign from our opponents has been very painful for me and my family, the constant messages of support and encouragement from supporters like you has sustained us every step of the way. That has meant so much to me!
I ask that you not give up hope on our goal of achieving positive change in our political system. For my part, I remain committed to advancing reform in government and helping build an inclusive governing majority.
After some much-needed rest and reflection on next steps, I hope to catch back up with you. Please stay in touch and let me know if I can ever be of help to you too.
With much appreciation,
-Carl

Voice Morning Report for today has a good Peters-DeMaio wrapup
“Nobody’s been looking good as more and more revelations came out Friday about the aftermath of the still-mysterious vandalism and burglary at DeMaio’s campaign office. KPBS follows up with Rep. Scott Peters, who himself seemed confused at best and complicit at worst in the business regarding campaign materials — perhaps including a now-notorious ‘playbook’ — that made its way to the Peters campaign.” –Randy Dotinga in Voice Morning Report, linked above
