New results issued minutes ago show the Conservative and Libertarian sweep gaining new momentum in the “Big 5” San Diego races.
Victory margins all increased with today’s counting for Councilwoman-elect Lorie Zapf [now 1861 votes ahead of Howard Wayne, up from 1672 Friday] , for Supervisors Bill Horn (now 8,819 ahead of Steve Gronke, up from 8,064 on Friday] and Ron Roberts (now +17,433, up from 15,359) and Assessor-Elect Ernie Dronenburg (now +14,390, up from 10,965). Prop. D, the city sales tax raise, now trails by 77,437.
Meanwhile in Escondido, former councilman Ed Gallo maintains a lead of 33 votes in his race with Lori Holt Pfeiler for the 3rd and final council spot…. Gallo 8,916 and Holt Pfeiler 8,883. Outgoing Mayor Holt Pfeiler has gradually gained in the last 2 updates, so this will be a photo finish. Stay tuned.

In a change with statewide implications, GOP candidate for State AG Steve Cooley saw his San Diego lead increase by 18,821 votes to 107,350, up from an 88,529 vote lead on Friday. That doubles his statewide lead over San Francisco DA Kamala Harris to 37,010 ballots!
