Building on strong fundraising momentum over the past several months, Nathan Fletcher’s mayoral campaign raised nearly $125,000 at last night’s event at Sway. Hundreds of supporters, many first-time donors and newcomers to local campaigns, gathered in downtown San Diego to hear Fletcher’s vision for San Diego’s future.

“I am incredibly humbled and honored to receive support from so many San Diegans,” Fletcher said. “I’ve never seen so much enthusiasm and so many new people getting involved in a local campaign,” he said.

As of December 31, Fletcher led all candidates in total dollars raised without personal contributions for the June 5 primary election.

“To my knowledge, this is the single largest mayoral campaign fundraising event in recent San Diego history,” said Tom Shepard, Fletcher for Mayor Chief Strategist. “Raising $125,000 in a single night with $500 contribution limits is extremely impressive. The fact that so many political newcomers are getting involved – Democrats, Republicans and independents – shows that something special is going on here. Momentum is definitely building for Nathan’s candidacy.”

  1. After considerable research (politician’s websites/documents, media clips, conversations, social media, etc), I think that there are two primary reasons that Nathan Fletcher will be a GREAT mayor for the City of San Diego.

Nathan Fletcher is an experienced leader and has solid plans for successfully moving the City of San Diego forward (pension reform, infrastructure, education, public safety, parks/rec, libraries, bike lanes, and the list continues). His plans are innovative because he solicits ideas and input from an array of citizens with varying expertise, education, and socioeconomic situations. He listens to the ideas of the citizens, he compiles his plans, and then he refines the plans until they are perfect. Democracy!

Nathan Fletcher has great integrity. He not only solicits input from citizens, but he is actually sincere. What? Really? A politician that actually makes decisions based upon the majority input from citizens. Remarkable!

I am so glad that my third-grade daughter is studying about our great country’s democracy and how every person has not only the right, but the responsibility, to vote. I would encourage anyone reading this to 1) Do your own research on the mayoral candidates and I’m sure you will also decide to 2) Vote Nathan Fletcher for Mayor!

  2. Kim, I hope your child is attending a private school or is home schooled, because we all know that real history and civics are not being taught in public school.
