As someone who grew up in San Diego, I have always believed that we need to be as connected as possible to the news that was happening all around us. We’ve seen in recent years, cornerstones of local media like the San Diego Union-Tribune downsize their presence and reduce their newsroom staff and with it, significantly changing how national news is delivered to you locally. The Daily Caller was launched in part to ensure that the stories that the mainstream media wants to ignore, but are oftentimes the stories that impact you the most, are actually told and reported. In a little more than a year, I’m proud to say that we’ve already surpassed many of the well-known and well-established brands such as National Review, The Weekly Standard, RedState and The New Republic.
Obviously, SD Rostra readers have already demonstrated an interest in the political news going on around you. For any of you interested in the national political scene, especially heading into the 2012 GOP Primary, The Daily Caller offers you an alternative to the “news” pushed out be the Huffington Post’s and New York Times’ of the world – something I think you would agree we desperately need. At a time when we are constantly inundated with new information, all day long, it’s nearly impossible to keep track of everything that’s going on – The Daily Caller is a 24-hour news site providing readers with original reporting from an experienced team of professional reporters, thought-provoking commentary and breaking news. Hopefully, like you’ve already made SDRostra, you’ll make The Daily Caller a part of your daily news day.
