SAN DIEGO- Nathan Fletcher’s mayoral campaign today announced that Fletcher’s committee raised more than $735,000 from its inception in June through December 31, 2011, for the June primary election.  The committee received contributions from nearly 2,500 donors, many of them first-time political donors. Between July 1 and the end of the year, the committee raised nearly $416,000 for the June primary election, and more than doubled the number of individual donors

“These fundraising numbers are proof San Diegans are ready to turn the page on the problems of the past and embrace a new generation of leadership,” said Deputy Campaign Manager Amy Thoma. “We are gratified by the support from so many first-time and online donors, and the broad coalition of support we’ve built.”

The campaign will file its report with the City Clerk on January 31st. It will show:

  • A total of $735,523 raised from the committee’s inception for the June primary election;

  • 2,479 individual donors, an increase of 1,446 individuals since June;
  • Average contribution of $287 during the July 1-December 31 reporting period;
