I would like to announce the formation of a new watchdog organization, La Mesa Citizen Oversight Group.
We announced yesterday at the La Mesa City Council meeting to make it official. This started as a very loosely knit group of long time La Mesa residents and business owners, concerned about the political landscape in La Mesa. It has now morphed into the site linked above and we are quite proud of it. The heads at City Hall have already turned.
You have possibly heard some of the founding members, including pension warrior Russell Buckley, PBID dissident Bill Jaynes, 2010 mayoral candidate Craig Maxwell, webmaster Scott Kidwell and me, a long time general malcontent.

This is good news. For far too long La Mesa’s politics have been conducted in relative obscurity by long-time incumbents who think and act like they’re something other than representatives of the people.
