(Oceanside) – Oceanside Councilmember Jerry Kern has announced that he has raised more than $100,000 during the first campaign finance reporting period, providing yet another indicator that his race for the 76th Assembly District is off to a strong start.
“The show of community support for my campaign has been humbling,” said Kern. “Whether it’s the endorsements of well-respected elected officials throughout the district, or contributions from leading community voices, it’s clear that my campaign has a strong foundation for success.”
Kern has been endorsed by Supervisor Bill Horn, Mayor Matt Hall, Vista Mayor Judy Ritter, Encinitas Mayor Kristin Gaspar, Escondido Mayor Sam Abed, State Senator Joel Anderson, Encinitas Councilmember Mark Muir, Deputy Mayor John Aguilera, members of the Tri-City Hospital Board of Directors, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego.
Jerry Kern has served on the Oceanside City Council since 2006. During his tenure, he led the effort to successfully pass the city charter; soundly defeated a recall attempt funded by public-sector labor unions; opposed tax increases; and implemented pension reform for city workers.
