Hunter Leads the Charge for Common-Sense Reform In His “First 100-Day Initiative”

Washington, DC – On the first day of the new 116^th Congress, Rep. Duncan Hunter (CA-50) announced his “First 100-Day Initiative,” a proactive legislative agenda to bring about some common-sense government reforms for the American people.  He began this effort by introducing the AMERICA Act and signified the close of this period yesterday by introducing the Protect Our Military Families’ 2^nd Amendment Right Act.  In total, Congressman Hunter introduced 10 original bills, while also cosponsoring 54 other bills and resolutions.

“It’s been 100 days since the start of the Democratic majority in the House,” said Congressman Duncan Hunter. “Many in their leadership viewed it as an opportunity to embrace radical socialism like the Green New Deal, deny the ongoing crisis at our border, advocate infanticide, propose expensive government mandates, hold senseless hearings, call for meaningless votes, and initiate unfounded investigations with the only goal being implementing obstacles for President Trump’s agenda.

“I want to make it clear: I’m here to get things done.  Things that will actually make a difference in the lives of the American people, not to play political games with our country’s future.  It is my hope that my colleagues across the aisle, and Democratic leadership in Congress as a whole, provide these common-sense bills I have introduced and cosponsored with full consideration.  I look forward to introducing more measures in the coming weeks and months.”
