Press Release
This morning, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) – California’s leading taxpayer advocacy group and chief defender of Proposition 13 – endorsed Senator Joel Anderson for San Diego County Supervisor District 2.
“Senator Anderson is a proven champion for taxpayers,” said HJTA President Jon Coupal. “He has protected San Diego taxpayers from countless efforts to raise taxes in the State Capitol and is committed to do the same as a member of the Board of Supervisors.”
Senator Anderson consistently received HJTA’s highest rating for his efforts to protect Prop. 13 and defeat attempts to increase taxes on hardworking Californians.
The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association is dedicated to the protection of Proposition 13 and the advancement of taxpayers’ rights, including the right to limited taxation, the right to vote on tax increases and the right of economical, equitable and efficient use of taxpayer dollars.

Completely absent is any statement of why I should vote Senator Anderson instead of Supervisor Jacob.
Agree. Thank you. We need change. From a business and job perspective, Joel has the ideas and execution skills to economically develop the region. His focus, attention to detail and accountability will make the county fiscally sound and more responsive to the people.
No one knows the East County and the needs of its residents like Dianne; and their relative fund raising efforts are a good reflection of the preferential faith voters are placing in the incumbent.
That’s a powerful endorsement, obviously, the HJTA feels strongly about supporting Anderson.
East County needs him, we need his ability to get things done. We need his energy and his dedication to serve his constituents.
Clearly, the HJTA agrees.
“Completely absent is any statement of why I should vote Senator Anderson instead of Supervisor Jacob.”
From the HJTA website:
“HJTA-PAC primarily focuses on electing good pro-Proposition 13 candidates to the Assembly, state Senate and, occasionally, local offices. Candidates are screened through a questionnaire and interview with the goal of finding candidates who are taxpayer-friendly, fiscally responsible and dedicated to the principles of Proposition 13. Those who qualify are endorsed and HJTA-PAC publicizes the names of those who deserve the support of taxpayers.”
Why would HJTA endorse one candidate over the other unless they though the other candidate wasn’t ” taxpayer-friendly, fiscally responsible and dedicated to the principles of Proposition 13.”?
This question should be posed to Jacob; “Why aren’t you taxpayer-friendly, fiscally responsible and dedicated to the principles of Proposition 13.?”
