If you or your California rural friends and family are subject to the rural fire “fee,” help may be on the way. The Jarvis group is after ’em. HJTA has filed a class action lawsuit against this farce — on behalf of the 825,000 rural property owners.
Encourage any folks affected by this bogus “fee” to join the effort. And support HJTA — there are not many effective taxpayer allies in this state.

The State of California has begun mailing bills to rural property owners for fire prevention. We believe this fee imposed by politicians is really an illegal tax under Proposition 13.
News: Locals react to Cal Fire fee lawsuit
Humboldt County’s Times-Standard newspaper reported positive reactions to the fire tax lawsuit from residents of California’s northern coast. The Humboldt County Taxpayers Association was joined in wholeheartedly supporting the lawsuit by the Humboldt County Fire Chief’s Association and the area’s Democratic Assemblyman Wesley Chesbro. I love the illustration of a clown (person) counting the $$$, that is what is about, not SAFETY, not FINANCIAL security in case of disaster, it is about ‘show me the $$$$’, follow the money, as usual. Mr. Rider is clear in his point. Note to all of ourselves, send $5 or more to Howard Jarvis Tax Assoc.
Thank you Richard Rider.
thank you Richard Rider for combating this firetax. But this tax is only a small part of what is to follow.
Here is a link (with the targeted areas in California) with 4 very short paragraphs
describing what the agenda is for our rural areas.

Note: our Senator Barbara Boxer fully supports it. Also Pamela Bensoussen (D) running for Chula Vista City Council is a top ICLEI advocate to further the ICLEI agenda. And she is expected to win re-election. Yikes !
(I wonder if those two crossed their fingers while reciting the oath of office,
since this agenda completely goes against our private property rights as guaranteed by our constitution.)
