A message from City Attorney Jan Goldsmith…
The filing deadline came and went without a candidate challenging my re-election. It is an honor to serve the people of San Diego and a pleasure to work with the men and women who serve in our law office.
Thank you for your support over the years. Some of you have been my partner in many political campaigns. I’m not used to running unopposed in a non-judicial election and it is nice to know that our team was ready.
Although I have no opponent, I plan to get around to some community forums if they will allow me to participate. Election campaigns are not just about getting votes. It is a time to listen, learn and get feedback. So, I’ll still get out and about.
This will be a very important election for our city. We are in the forefront of the pension reform debate with the CPR ballot initiative. We have candidates running with very difference approaches to the mayor’s office and city council. Please ask questions, get information and choose our city’s course wisely.
