Finally Romney takes a bold position that Obama can’t counter

Finally! Here’s the first Romney position I’ve seen that should make one at least consider voting for Mitt for President. He’s starting to come out strongly for school choice. Well, at least THIS time he did.

As I’ve written on Rostra before, to me this is the issue the GOP should take point on. The Democrats view school kids as teacher union ATM machines rather than young minds that deserve quality education. Especially the poor, the minorities and the blue collar kids.

And nowhere is the Democrat disdain for our children more evident than Obama’s decision to end the highly regarded, very popular, incredibly cost effective Opportunity Scholarship Program (vouchers) for low income students in Washington, D.C.  It’s a disgusting decision by our President.

But it’s a SUPERB wedge issue that President Obama has put in play. And Romney was smart enough to criticize Obama for this heartless pandering to the teacher unions.

Let’s see if Romney has the courage and initiative to make this a major campaign issue.  I will be watching with interest.
