UPDATE:   Club President Linda Dealy sends an interesting synopsis of KFMB radio host Mike Slater’s presentation to the Fairbanks Republican Women Federated on Monday night.

” Mike shared his family background of being raised by a conservative father and a very liberal mother yielding vibrant, thought provoking discussions of current events. Through this he gained a respect for healthy, fact based debate.  Mike told hilarious stories of his years attending Yale, a season which crystallized his own conservative values.

A job offer after college brought Mike to Jackson, Tennessee; giving him the exposure to small town rural America. There he learned firsthand how much impact a voice on the radio can have on a community, and how much that community impacted him. Slater has a devotion to the free enterprise system, supporting the ‘producers’ of the world. Lastly, he feels a strong burden to support our military and finding tangible solutions to assist military families.”

Thank  you,  Linda Dealy, for this insight into Mike Slater.   Rostrafarians can hear Mike on am- 760 (KFMB)  Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.  He is live and local and worth a close listen.
