The Voice of San Diego, in partnership with NBC 7, recently released their latest fact check.

This time they reviewed DA Bonnie Dumanis’ statements on her own “Public Integrity Unit”. The unit was created to investigate elected officials for corruption.

Since the program has been an utter failure, Dumanis has attempted to rewrite history on the reasons for creating the unit.

Her attempt to rewrite history was given the worst rating on the true/false meter: “Huckster Propaganda”. Ouch.

Watch the entire segment.

  1. With much fanfare, in 2007 County DA Bonnie Dumanis formed a crack team of attorneys to “investigate and prosecute allegations of criminal misconduct among elected officials, politicians and their staff.” Result? 3 elected official prosecutions in 4 years — and 2 did not result in convictions.

Instead the Public Integrity Unit has picked low level fruit — misdeeds by rank and file employees. Are the thousands of elected officials and their staffs in the county all towing the line? Hmmm . . . .

  2. I wonder if the lack of investigations and prosecutions by the “Criminal Misconduct Among Elected Officials, Polticians and Their Staff” unit will lead to an endorsement of Dumanis for Mayor by Sen. Joel Anderson?

  3. I wonder if ‘Ya Know’ has heard yet that Joel Anderson easily defeated Jeff Stone in the June 2010 Republican state senate primary?

Anderson put up his hand for a blocking foul in the first half, Stone hit the 2 free throws, but Anderson went on to win by 10 points anyway.
