It was news enough
when 64% of voters
rejected appointed-
Democrat incumbent
Assessor Dave Butler
in the June primary.
The GOP’s Ernie
Dronenburg ran just
1% behind him (36%
to 35%).

But new fundraising
figures are even worse
news for Butler. His
latest official filing says
he raised a total of
$650 between May 23
and June 30, 2010.

$500 of that came from a donor in Temecula, meaning he raised
$150 from all of SD County over a 38-day period!

As the Incumbent……. Ouch !

Butler’s new report shows cash-on-hand of $5,702…meanwhile
Ernie Dronenburg has $41,045 cash-on-hand as of June 30.
That’s a 7-to-1 ratio for the mathematically minded.

Republican leaders and elected officials are rapidly unfiying
behind Ernie. Dronenburg won 5 straight races for the
Board of Equalization and another for SD County Board of
Education. He now goes to the Fall runoff the clear favorite
to put the S.D. Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk office back
into the GOP column where it belongs.
