SAN DIEGO, CA – In honor of Tax Day, U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina today participated in the “Had Enough” anti-tax rally at Tuna Harbor Park alongside San Diego City Councilman Carl DeMaio. “Spending is out of control in Washington, DC, and taxpayers can trust Carly Fiorina to be their champion in fighting government waste,” Councilman DeMaio said in announcing his endorsement of Fiorina.
DeMaio was elected to the San Diego City Council in 2008 after many years prodding city leaders to enact reforms addressing its financial and ethical problems. Previously, DeMaio was a successful businessman in addition to his work as a city government watchdog.
“Today, the American Dream is in danger because Washington’s pursuit of higher taxes, bigger government and more onerous regulations has stifled economic growth and killed jobs. The people of this state are tired of career politicians like Barbara Boxer who cut backroom deals and hike our taxes to fund their big-government earmarks and pet projects,” said Fiorina to the crowd. “We have an opportunity this November to bring an end to Barbara Boxer’s 28-year record of failure in the U.S. Senate. On Election Day, we will together send a message that Washington cannot ignore: We have had enough. We are cutting up Washington’s credit card and telling it to live within its means. No new taxes.”

Me thinks Carl is backing the wrong horse. DeVore resigned his post as minority whip because he refused to push the tax hike supported by Campbell, Fiorina, Swarzenegger, and all but three of the Assembly republicans. Support from Tom McClintock and endorsed as the Tea Party Candidate by the Tea Party Express is telling. Also his bonifides from working in the Reagan White House under Secretary of State Weinberger, his history in the aerospace industry and the list keeps going. Carley is endorsed by the Republican Establishment (they should keep out of the primary elections) such as “Cap and Tax” (also supported by Carley) Lindsey Graham, John Mc Cain, and Senator Cornyn. Don’t need another establishment RINO at the wheel running our party further away from it’s base.
