San Diego County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price today endorsed Bonnie Dumanis for Mayor of San Diego. Slater-Price cited Dumanis’ proven leadership of a large government organization and the ability to build consensus at the District Attorney’s Office as just two of the reasons she believes Dumanis is the best candidate to keep San Diego moving forward.
“Bonnie brought efficiency to the District Attorney’s Office, while maintaining public safety and a 94 percent felony conviction rate. She’s a dedicated public servant who turned around a troubled DA’s office by instituting a system of accountability and bringing people to the table,” said Slater-Price. “I know she will do the same as Mayor of San Diego.”
Supervisor Slater-Price has partnered with Dumanis on a variety of initiatives including fighting domestic violence through the “Cut It Out” program and a North County domestic violence shelter, the County’s Prescription Drug Task Force and prescription drug take back events, environmental protection issues and an annual Consumer Protection Day.
For nearly two decades, Supervisor Slater-Price has fought on behalf of residents to bring fiscal responsibility to San Diego County. As a member of the Board of Supervisors, she administers a $5 billion budget and serves more than 3 million residents.
“I’ve worked directly with Bonnie in her role as District Attorney and watched as she brought innovation and collaboration to the DA’s Office,” said Slater-Price. “Bonnie is a bold leader who’s been working to make life better for San Diego County residents for years. The relationships she has forged at the County will help her be even more effective in the Mayor’s Office.”
