At press conference, Filner announces he going into rehab, while he CONTINUES to carry out mayoral tasks (screwing up the city and perhaps striking back at the women who came forward).
He’ll be protected from the press because he will be in therapy. All a ploy.
Let’s see if the Dems continue to call for his resignation. I THINK they will, but we shall see.

If you want Fletcher to run in a special election for mayor, you first need a — ya know — special election. Otherwise your movement is a joke.
Let me assure you of one thing: If (actually WHEN) there is a special election for mayor, Fletcher will toss his hat in the ring before Filner can make it out of 202 C St. after the announcement. No draft needed.
IF the union bosses line up behind Fletcher, he’s the Dem’s guy. If they choose Kehoe, he’s dead meat. THAT’s the real question concerning Fletcher.
Unless, of course, Fletcher rejoins the GOP because he senses the shift in the wind. Regular weathercock, that guy.
