Nine days ago, Lori Holt Pfeiler reduced Ed Gallo’s lead to 33 votes
in the contest for the 3rd and last council seat available this year in
Escondido. But last Tuesday, another add-on count boosted Galllo’s
edge to 148 votes, and the race seemed to be about over.
But 18-year incumbent Holt Pfeiler has gained steadily since then,
cutting the deficit to 76, then 67, and today (again!) the margin is
exactly 33 ballots …. (with Gallo 9,828… and Holt Pfeiler 9,795).
