Behind closed doors conservatives are smiling that the most hyped consultant in San Diego is over-billing and under-performing for Bob Filner.

The rumors about Democrat Bob Filner signing Republican political consultant Tom Shepard became reality on Wednesday.
The U-T San Diego posted a story about the move last night. A blog post went up on San Diego Rostra about the same time. And there was Tony Krvaric’s email blast. The chair of local GOP didn’t mince words. His subject line: “BREAKING: Tom Shepard betrays our reform effort and signs on with Bob Filner!”
Krvaric closed by saying: “PS. The Republican Party of San Diego County will not do business with him ever again as long as I remain chairman. Elephants don’t forget – and principles matter.”

Oh my, the shenanigans continues.
It’s a darn good thing that it does for those of us who like to share airspace with other poliwonks, politicos and press-pass junkies.
In a bi-partisan, put down your swords, have a beer for goodness sake and sign a peace treaty effort, our little gatherings between Rostrafarians, our liberal darling blogger friends at Two Cathedrals, and those hipster CityBeat cats continues to grow in legend as well as attendance.

While Mrs. Seal hasn’t technically made any direct comment, her admonition to contestants on her reality show “Project Runway” applies nicely. As in fashion, in politics one day you’re in, and the next day you’re out.
In a few short days on June 5 when fundraising can begin, all our speculation will be verified as to who’s actually in the race and who’s out. Those of us with additional speculating to do need to get cracking.
