I’ve also heard what ‘Sunshine’ heard – that Xema is out as Chief of Staff to Marti Emerald. Further, though, I heard that Emerald offered the position to another long time City Hall staffer liberal Democrat Don Mullen. Xema and Mullen had a very, very rocky relationship, and rumor has it he threatened to quit in the last couple days for a job outside City Hall.

Don is more liberal. Not a win for san diego taxpayers.
It’s true Xema is gone. This is a direct result of an ongoing conflict between her and her replacement, Don Mullen. In essence, Xema is more pragmatic, and more driven by her relationship with the labor council. Don is a ‘progressive’ liberal.
From what I can tell, Emerald’s personal politics are closer to Mullens, and it’s been Xema holding her back.
Im not at all sure Don will take the job he was threatening to go out and run Whitburn’s campaign against Ron Roberts as this all went down.
Another example of Marti losing it!
I read in today’s paper that she “blew up” at a Council meeting yesterday and starting yelling — just seconds after she admonished the pulbic to be polite and keep passions in check.
Another example of “Do as I say, not as I do” Marti.
When can we just get rid of this hun of a woman?
